In 2019, Lori Saine passed legislation ensuring that the State of Colorado didn't fund programs until the money was actually available, avoiding expensive clawbacks, and half-finished work. Lori Saine knows that government should budget just like you and I do at the kitchen table and she will fight to ensure that Government tightens their belt....not yours!
CHAMPIONING Small Business
When the Governor shut down Colorado, some business owners considered closing their doors forever since they didn't have the cash flow to pay 2019 taxes with 2020 revenue. After an uphill battle, Lori Saine passed a law to give Weld County the flexibility to reduce or waive interest or entirely suspend the accrual of interest on property taxes until October 1st, 2020. This gave families and businesses in Weld County a much-needed break, saving jobs and giving our economy a chance to recover with revenues down due to COVID.
PUTTING WELD COUNTY back to work
In 2019, Lori Saine led the amendment team to include true local control in SB181 so that Weld County could control its own destiny with the energy development, keeping jobs in Weld County.
In 2018, Lori Saine stopped the cycle of lawsuit abuse that not only kept the construction of entry-level homes to a bare minimum but increased assessments to HOA members. Today, the construction industry is booming with entry to mid-size home products.
