We are a Colorado Oil and Gas family. My husband fed our family by working in the oil patch in Weld County for many years. Oil and Gas production will continue to be a critical part of our school funding.

I passed HB1421, giving companies and property owners in Weld County a break until Oct 1st to pay property taxes.
This will also help our and gas companies struggling to pay higher 2019 taxes with
depressed 2020 revenues. Forced to choose between paying property taxes on June 15th or laying off workers, some companies would have been forced to do the latter.
This Legislation saved Weld County jobs.
Lori Saine worked with the Industry to successfully increase public safety with underground pipelines and orphan wells. As a result, we now have the best 811 reporting system in the country.
HB18-1098 Roll Over Year-end Balance Envtl Response Account: This act ensured that funds stay in the Oil and Gas Conservation and Environmental Response Fund if not used during the fiscal year for clean-up and mitigation of orphaned wells instead of being swept into a slush fund. Signed by the Governor.
SB18-167 Enforce Requirements 811 Locate Underground Facilities:
I worked with our oil and gas companies to solve a decades-old problem of how to strengthen our 811 reporting system and prevent line strikes like the one that happened in the Firestone house explosion. This bill will also provide better line locations for contractors in the future to see all lines underground in a project. After 16 years, I led the team to finally get this done and was awarded the Colorado Contractors Association award. Signed by the Governor.
